Your vote.
A small footprint.
Cats vs Dogs is a small, invitation-led pilot. This notice explains how the site handles voting information.
Who is responsible
Cats vs Dogs is operated by Nick Outram, who is responsible for how this site handles personal information. For privacy questions or requests about your data, email admin@catsvsdogs.app.
What is stored
An essential signed browser cookie establishes your voting identity. The database stores a contest-specific hash, your chosen entry and the acceptance time. Voting does not ask for your name, email address or location.
Why it is stored
The identifier prevents repeat voting in the same contest. It is not shared with advertisers or used to track you across sites. Clearing it may create a new browser identity.
Retention
The voting cookie lasts up to 90 days. Historical vote records and aggregate results remain stored during the pilot; cookie expiry does not delete those records. Encrypted database backups are retained for 30 days. Email admin@catsvsdogs.app to discuss a data request.
Contact messages
If you email us, we receive your email address and the message and attachments you choose to send. We use these to respond to your enquiry and handle requests about the site or your data. ImprovMX forwards these messages to our Gmail inbox, provided by Google.
Hosting and security
Vercel hosts the site and media, and Neon stores the voting database. Hosting and security logs may include IP addresses, browser details, request times and errors. Better Stack checks service availability, Resend delivers private operational reports, and GitHub stores encrypted recovery backups. Voting does not send your selections to an AI provider.
No advertising or optional analytics
This build does not load advertising, optional analytics or third-party sharing scripts. Sharing links only open an external service when you choose them.
